If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have been in contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, you are prohibited from entering Riverside Cemetery property, and must quarantine per federal and state guidelines.

As of April 6, 2020, we are taking the following precautionary measures:

  • Cemetery is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Gates will only be opened for funerals with 10 or less people.

  • The office lobby will continue to be closed

  • Funeral directors should call the office upon arrival for specific instructions on where to meet office staff to complete paperwork

  • All funeral services must be conducted graveside

  • For the health and safety of your family and our employees, and to comply with NJ Administrative Order No. 2020-4, services are limited to immediate family members with no more than 10 people plus Riverside staff.

  • All family should wait in their vehicles until the Riverside staff has carried and lowered the casket. Riverside staff will act as casket bearers.

  • Chairs for services will not be provided.

We continue to implement the following changes:

  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting throughout public areas and high used surfaces per CDC recommendations.

  • We are requiring social distancing of at least 6 feet between employees and visitors and have implemented best practices within our staff.

  • Guests visiting the Cemetery for grave sales will be asked to use their own vehicle to view grave sites and remain in your vehicle to complete necessary paperwork.

  • Where possible, we have implemented teams and telework to help stop the spread.

  • Riverside continues to enforce our policy for employees who are sick to stay home.

  • Employees are asked to inform Riverside Cemetery if they are planning or have traveled to countries considered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to be high-risk areas for exposure to the coronavirus.

Sincerely,
